Surface reactivity of Li2MnO3: Structural and morphological impact

This paper investigates the role of stacking fault (5%, 20% and 50%) morphology Li2MnO3 lamellar materials, issued from coprecipitation method with three annealing temperatures, on surface reactivity. The structure have been characterized by XRD, SEM TEM. We studied reactivity these materials combining X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS), gaseous adsorption first-principle calculations. An evolution toward SO2 acid probe has observed for pure redox mechanism mixed acid-base/redox mechanisms, respectively 5% 50% faults. demonstrated that electronic being not modified faulted. Thus, faulted is linked to SF rate but only governed accessible crystalline surfaces manganese environments at atomic layer. formation (0 0 1)-Li according Li-overstoichiometry extreme random particles shape more are responsible tuning.
